Site founder, Eugene Walker, was a frustrated musician when he sought relief from jazz drumming by taking up the guitar. “But without a proper band, I started to lose motivation for practicing.” says Eugene.

He started an exhaustive search in the internet seeking guitar backing tracks. Unfortunately, he discovered that most of the tracks were extremely poor in quality or they were just \\\"midi\\\" tracks or completely cheesy sounding. This further frustrated and discouraged him further. He knew that if he was this disappointed, others must be suffering also.

It was time to come up with a solution. Guitar learning had to be better to fast-track a guitarists learning. So with his guitar teacher, Eugene started work recording and licensing popular backing tracks leaving out the guitars and the vocals and Planet of Rock was born.

Planet of Rock tracks are talented guitarists who produced, recorded and then re-worked unique high quality all-purpose tracks.
